Prisaad Games set Oct. 1-7

THE registration and submission of entries are now open for the Private Schools Administrators Association of Davao (Prisaad) Games 2008, which is slated October 1 to 7, organizers announced Thursday.

Prisaad Games sports committee chairperson Federico Garcia, who guested at the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn Thursday, said they expect some 30 to 40 of their member schools to compete in the weeklong event.

"We won't be declaring an over-all champion because each member school is only composed of 1,000 to 2,000 students and each team won't be competing in all events. We will just have winners for every event," Garcia said.

Garcia said the high school division will feature boys basketball, boys and girls volleyball, boys and girls table tennis, boys and girls badminton, cheer dance open and cheer dance group.

The elementary category will have boys basketball, boys and girls volleyball, boys and girls table tennis, boys and girls badminton, chess open, age-group football and group cheer dance.

The Prisaad Games was launched in 1999.

"We've been holding the Prisaad Games every year since its inaugural in 1999. We are glad that we have been growing not just in terms of participants but also in terms of featured events," Garcia said.

The opening rite is set on October 1 at the Doņa Pilar Learning Center in Sasa. (MLSA)
