The 31-year-old Sims' most recent stint in Hotel Izan Caceres in Spain is a general manager, hence another able leader to this renowned tourist destination in Davao.

The event was graced by TonyBoy R. Floirendo, vice chair of Antonio Floirendo (Anflo) Group of Companies, and brothers Ricky R. Floirendo and Vincent R. Floirendo.

During the formal turnover ceremony, Ricky R. Floirendo, as the senior vice president of Anflo Group of Companies, gave Mikel Villaverde, the former general manager of Pearl Farm Beach Resort, a token of appreciation for the services and efforts the latter has rendered to the company for more than a year.

Villaverde handed the key of responsibility to Karl Frederick Sims marking the relinquishment of the obligations he once held.

"This is a new challenge but I have many new and fresh ideas to help maintain and improve the quality of services of Pearl Farm so it will get better and better and go higher and higher," Sims said.

Under the new leadership of Sims, more of Pearl Farm's chill-out extravaganzas are coming up, one dubbed as the Pirate's Night is every Friday to perk up an island vacation for the whole year round.

Other dignitaries who attended the said event are the executives of Anflo Management and Investment Corporation namely, Alexander N. Valoria, president, and Oscar V. Grapa, Chief Financial Officer. Also present were Shierly Marangan, sales and marketing manager of Pearl Farm; Hon. Lalu Malik Partawana, Consul General of Indonesian Consulate; Angel Puentespina, president of Davao Tourism Association; Councilor Susabel Reta, Island Garden City of Samal vice mayor Orly Amit; Stanley Lau, general manager of Marco Polo, Art Boncato Jr., Marco Polo director for sales; owners and managers of travel agencies; corporate partners; and media friends.

Born in Welling Garden City, London, England, Sims finished his professional education in business administration in 1995. He earned a degree in Tourism and Hotel Management and is now the process of completing his Master's Degree in Business Administration.

Sims spearheaded the opening and management of a new hotel in Asturias - Hotel Palacio de Rubianes. He speaks five different languages -- English, Spanish, Catalan, French and German.

Being the new general manager of Pearl Farm, Sims vows to continue the milestone that his predecessor has achieved and infuse his own brand of successful management.
