DBA officers win Kadayawan crown

THE Dabawenyo Bowlers Association (DBA) Officers and Answer Me Bowlers captured the divisions A and B titles, respectively, at the close of the 23rd Kadayawan Open Bowling Tournament on Monday at the Fairlanes Bowling Center.

DBA bested Davao City Bowlers Association (Daciba) Officers, Sarabia Dental, Carcedo Law, Fairlanes Bowlers and LBWSI that landed at the next five spots in division A for private, non-government and government organizations.

Answer Me, meanwhile, ruled over Jarano Kim Bowlers, D' Adventurers and TopShots in division B for commercial teams.

The division A masters crown went to Jojo Sta. Maria while Dra. Mona Sarabia settled for the runner-up honors. Rene Dalayon placed third while Dante Sayon came fourth.

Nonoy Calida, on his part, bagged the division B masters trophy at the expense of Robert Balana and Joe Torres who went home with the second and third place honors, respectively.

In other individual awards, Jimmy Ranis of Sarabia Dental won the division A highest pinning award with 94 pinfalls while Gerry Farin of Answer Me got the same title in division B after hitting 98 pinfalls.

Benjie Boncato of LBWSI took the division A highest individual single with 155, while Jojo Gonzaga of Brilliant Pawnshop garnered 158 for the same award in division B.

The rest of the winners were DBA's Boy Soriano (277) and Jarano Kim's Nonoy Calida (277)- highest individual double; Sarabia Dental (610) and Jarano Kim (636) - highest team single; Daciba Officers (1,199) and Jarano Kim (1,231) - highest team doubles and Jojo Sta. Maria (116.70) and Nonoy Calida (127.50) - highest individual average.

A total cash prize of P42,000 were given away to the winners of the bowlfest organized by the Sunday Bowlers Club and backed up by Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte and Vice-Mayor Sara Duterte through city sports coordinator Christopher "Bong" Go. (MLSA)
