3 bodies of MILF rebels found in shallow graves

THREE bodies of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) rebels were unearthed in shallow graves by the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Central Mindanao as fighting between government troops and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front enters its second month.

First to be discovered was the shallow grave of one Musa Alonto Mongkas in barangay Nunangan, Datu Anggal Midtimbang in Maguindanao on August 30. Troops from the Army's 62nd and 63rd Division Reconnaissance Company and the 46th Infantry Battalion discovered the grave.

Also recovered in the area were one shotgun and several subversive documents.

The following day, August 31, troops under Lt. Col. Roseler Murillo of the Army's 64th IB again discovered a shallow grave with two dead MILF rebels identified as certain Kebu and Kembao. The two were said to be followers of MILF commander Talio.

Also discovered were some items belonging to one Sgt. Emben who was reported missing last August 21 and believed killed by the MILF in the area of Barangay Muslim, Guindolungan in Maguindanao. (BOT)
