Ateneo dribblers crush Magallanes in GS Cup

THE Ateneo de Davao University and Sta. Ana National High School beat their respective opponents in the resumption of games in the 6th Gaisano South (GS) Cup at the GS SkyGym over the weekend.

Ateneo's mini division squad routed Magallanes Elementary School, 73-33, behind the heroics of Ralph Riggo, who poured in 11 points. Riggo also issued two assists, grabbed 11 rebounds, and had two steals to be named best player of the game.

Sta. Ana, meanwhile, overwhelmed Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School, 64-33, in the girls event. Hazel Isonza sizzled with 26 points, 13 rebounds, and eight steal to lead her team.

In junior division 1, the Agro-Industrial Foundation College Sea Horse trounced Davao City National High School (DCNHS) Vikings, 93-56.

It was a big rebound for Agro after earlier bowing to reigning champion Holy Child School of Davao (HCSD) Reds in the opener.

Rodel Cabonillas led the Vikings wiht 18 points and 13 rebounds in the BAP-SBP cagefest sponsored by Abbott, P&G, Head & Shoulders and Sunsport.

Ramon Adriano Jr. and Reden Celda combined forces to lead the charge for the Vikings, who are under mentor by Arman Villanueva.

The Assumption College of Davao also shared the limelight by crushing Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School, 138-30.

Renzar Henry Asilum sank 24 while Roland John Maneja made and Kristofer Miguel Tanduyan added 22 and 19, respectively, for ACD. (MLSA)
