Hidamari tops Lapanday bowlfest

THE Hidamari Sodachi pintopplers struck for a total of 2,755 pinfalls after three games to emerge champion in the 14th Lapanday Tri-Media Bowling Tournament held at the NCCC Mall B3 Lanes Saturday.

Hidamari Sodachi was composed of Jun Isidro, Allan Abais, Zaldy Chatto, Moses Billacura, Roan Abasolo, Michael Manguhig and Lapanday Food Corporation respresentative Edwin Abesia.

Team Frescana amassed 2,611 pinfalls to settle for second place while Frutia finished third with 2,507 pinfalls. Heart of the Phil, meanwhile, placed fourth with 2,465 followed by Manna (2,407) in fifth and Mabuhay (2,362) sixth.

Frescana was bannered by Ronelo Mandreza, Renie Urbano, Edgar Arro, Norlita Morata, Dennis Domingo, Frank Liva and LFC's Ellazar Saludar.

Sun.Star Davao sports editor Charles Raymond A. Maxey led Frutia team that was also composed of Edith Isidro, Morie Aguilar, Susan Paredes, May-May Flores, Samuel Embutin and LFC's Edgardo Buligan.

The winners received cash prizes during the awarding rites that was highlighted by raffling of prizes at Greenhills Restaurant.

Consolation prizes were also awarded to Aloha, Stareyna, Seico Fresh and Island Sun teams.

The highest male single title went to Edgar Banzon, while Ruth Dumandan captured the women's crown.

The annual Lapanday bowlfest aimed to foster camarederie among media practitioners from TV, radio, print outlets and Lapanday. (MLSA)
