3 MILF rogues killed in Kabunsuan

THE Philippine Army claimed killing three members of the rogue elements of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) while a member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu) was wounded in the latest armed conflict in Central Mindanao.

Based on reports gathered from the Army's 6th Infantry Division, troops from the 6th IB and Cafgu members were patrolling Barangay Tumagintingan, Northern Kabuntalan, Shariff Kabunsuan Province around 4 p.m. on September 2 when the rebel group fired at them. An exchange of gunfire ensued which lasted for 45 minutes.

Fighting has temporarily ceased in Maguindanao but erupted in Shariff Kabunsuan Province.

Authorities are now scouring the possible hideout of Kumander Ameril Umbra Kato f the MILF's 105th Base Command.

Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro bared that they will continue their offensives against the groups of Kumander Bravo and Kumander Ameril Umbra Kato after the officials of the MILF failed to surrender both renegade leaders. (Edgardo Fuerzas)
