Chery cars cheer you up
By Ben O. Tesiorna

CHERY car was first introduced by China's Chery Automobile Co Ltd, a once state-owned and now independent car manufacturer headquartered in Wuhu province, in 1999. In just nine years, Chery has grown to be one of China's top auto manufacturers and the country's biggest exporter with sales of more than 51,000 cars to some 30 countries in Southeast Asia, Africa, Middle East and South America in 2006.

In the Philippines, particularly in Davao City, it was only on May 2008 that Chery cars made their way to the market. And in Davao and General Santos, Chery cars are exclusively distributed by Eduard Bangayan's AB&C Davao Resources.

Bangayan said their mission is to provide an economical way of transportation to the people. And provide the best customer service.

"And as pioneer in the Philippine market (Davao) with China-made motor vehicles, we are ambitious in meeting the high expectations of domestic consumers with relatively low pricing yet with the best quality and value," Bangayan said.

He believes that delivering value to their customers is their core strategy in relating to auto-industry in Philippines, as well as carefully positioning their lines in response to market changes.

"Our dedicated service teams provide complete after-sales maintenance to guarantee on the sustainability and functionality of Chery vehicles in respect to our competitive pricing of vehicles. Beyond satisfaction is our means to achieved a long-term development in attaining a 20 percent market share within a year," said Bangayan.

The Chery brand originated from the English "cheery" that means happy and cheerful.

And living up to its name and symbol, Chery cars symbolize the best not only in quality but also in terms of price. As proof, Chery was Beijing Olympics' official car.

The popular 2008 Chery QQ has been named "Mini Car of the Year" at the 4th Annual C! Awards.

The Awards is organized by the country's top and dynamic motoring journalists from C! Magazine, responsible for setting standards for a car and for verifying compliance by automobile manufacturers.

The QQ, Chery's long-running favorite, has sold more than 1,000 units since it was launched in July 2007 in the country.

True to Chery's philosophy of producing cars with cheerfulness, the QQ smiles offer distinctive design, versatility, and fuel economy.

The award-winning QQ car comes with an eye-catching styling, coupled with utilitarian and safety advantages. The car's design is ideal for traveling, providing stability because wind passes through the upper and lower part of the vehicle. Standard fog lamps are equipped with courtesy lamps, which enable safe driving, especially during the night.

At the heart of the Chery QQ lies the double overhead cam engine, capable of producing 52 ps @ 0.8 li engine and 68 ps @ 6000 rpm for the 1.1 li engine. The QQ is equipped with an Acteco engine that delivers fuel economy and makes free-spirited driving performance possible.

Other features include the stabilizer bar or straut bar, which is perfect for maneuvering.

As added bonus to their customers, Chery is also offering a five-year warranty for parts and service. It also offers a five-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first, as standard. The EW covers all brand new vehicles, while providing peace of mind and relief to Chery owners.

Among the components of the vehicles covered with the EW program include engine (rocker assembly, inlet and exhaust valves, etc.), timing belts, gearboxes (manual and automatic), and Continuous Variable Transmission (CTX/CVT).

So if you are looking for a car that suits your needs but is not heavy on the pocket, Chery cars just might be the one you're looking for.

Chery's display room is located on JP Laurel Avenue in Bajada just beside the Davao City Water District.
