Makati-based hotel taps Davao market
By Joy Romares-Sevilla

THE Millennium Plaza Serviced Residences, one of the standard hotels based in Makati City, was introduced in Davao last week.

Joaquin Mercado II, room division manager of the Millennium Plaza, told reporters that this is the first time they tapped Davao's market.

He said that aside from Davao, Millennium Plaza will also be promoted in Cebu City, which also contributes to the hotel's growth.

Mercado said Millennium Plaza offers warm and efficient service, comfort and luxury, and convenience and accessibility.

He said the hotel has highly professional and experienced staff always ready to make its clients' stay as pleasant as possible. Its rooms are ready to cater to the various needs of any demanding businessman, and the hotel is very accessible to commercial, business, dining and leisure establishments.

Mercado said Davao City is a potential market for hotel business, saying they target to get 15 percent of client contribution from both Cebu and Davao markets.

"The client contribution of Cebu and Davao is now placed at three percent. The 15-percent target is possible. We will be into intensified tracking of clients so we can promote the hotel on the point of origin of our clients," Mercado said.

He added that the hotel targets businessmen as its clients, especially those who stay long in Manila for some business projects.

"Our rooms are designed for long-staying. We allow our clients to cook inside their rooms and this what made us different from other hotels. We provide cooking utensils and even an electric stove," Mercado said.

He added that its fixed hotel rates are competitive and actually very affordable for a Makati location.

"Travelers will love our hotel promo rate of only P1,200 per person on twin sharing rooms. This extend to students or family, who can avail of our Stay and Learn Package for as low as P2,900 for four persons sharing a room," Mercado said.
