Wednesday, September 10, 2008 DCNHS defeats Emar B; Ateneo White triumphs
THE Davao City National High School (DNCHS) defeated Emar Learning Center (ELC)-B, 3-1, during opening day of the Blue Knight Inter-High School League 2008 at the Tionko Football Grounds Saturday.
Rocky Custodio scored on a hat trick (17th, 59th and 66th minutes) to lift DCNHS' first taste of victory in the meet officiated by the Davao Football Association. Emar-A relied on Carlo Gonzaga's only goal in the 74th.
Emar-A, meanwhile, crushed Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU)-Blue, 14-1, as Jestoni Felipe sparked the run with six goals. Jomar Acedo, Frances Jay Abrasaldo, and Alfredo Labrador pitched in two goals each while Nestor Bantilan and Harold Mabislang added one goal apiece.
Felipe knocked in goals in the sixth, 52nd, 53rd, 61st, 66th and 67th, while Acedo opened Emar's bid with a goal in the second minute and followed it up with a goal in the 42nd.
Abrasaldo secured the 48th and 58th while Labrador added goals in the 25th and 70th.
Ateneo White also won its first assignment on a high note against Southpoint School, 14-0.
