Friday, September 12, 2008 Army raids NPA armory in Lupon
TROOPS belonging to Army's 67th Infantry Battalion raided an armory of the New People's Army (NPA) in Lupon, Davao Oriental on Tuesday.
A belated report showed that the Army acted on information from residents of Barangay Maragatas that the NPA has an armory in the vicinity of sitio Logdeck.
The government troops recovered four homemade rifles with 29 live ammos for caliber .30 and six rounds of 7.62mm in an abandoned house in the barangay.
No rebel was present during the raid.
The soldiers' presence in the area is part of the military's effort to clear the area from the influence of the NPA. (BOT)
