By Marianne Saberon-Abalayan

ORGANIZERS of the "Ring War in Davao" are ready to pay taxes required by the City Government of Davao.

The "Ring War in Davao" features the World Boxing Council (WBC) International superbantamweight title fight of Balweg Bangoyan from Jose Abad Santos (JAS), Davao del Sur and Sande Otieno of Kenya on October 10 at the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Gym.

JAS Mayor Alex Wangkay said they are still looking for a beneficiary.

The 21-year-old Bangoyan is ranked number 15 by the WBC with a fight record of 12 wins against no defeat, with eight knockouts while number 12--ranked has a 15-0 record and also without a loss.

Bangoyan's trainor, Vic Adriano, said they will start their heavy training Monday at the Zander Khan Boxing Gym at Wangkay's Ecoland Subdivision residence.

A southpaw boxer from Manila arrived recently to be Bangoyan's sparring partner.

Adriano earlier said Bangoyan is a stylish boxer but they will have to work on his right to get ready for Otieno.

The Davao pug, who guested at the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum Thursday, said he is ready to fight the Kenyan.

"I'm ready to face him. I'm taking my training seriously because I really want to win this fight," Bangoyna said in the vernacular.

Davao City Councilor Paolo Z. Duterte, president of the DC's Association of Barangay Captains (ABC), is co-presenter of the event along with the ZK International Promotions.
