Kickin' free with Havaianas
By Ana Felicia Dulay

HAVAIANAS, Brazil's favorite flip-flops brand, held another exciting experience with a bit of Brazil's favorite sport - football, which we call soccer here.

Shoppers and fans trooped to SM City Davao last September 6 wearing their Havaianas flip-flops and gamely tried to score a goal. It sure was raining flip-flops that day!

The Events Centre was turned into a small football field, complete with net, goalie with participants kicking the ball. Everyone had a chance to join the raffle and win an exclusive gift item from Havaianas.

Members of the local media were present and tried their hand with kicking the ball. Sports editors Charles Maxey of Sun.Star Davao and Jon Develos of Mindanao Times as well as photojournalist Bing Gonzales proved their worth. However, the goalies were faster.

Maya Pardillo, Mutya Tarona, and this writer were not able to score a goal but it was such a fun event that we did not actually mind.

Adding hype were super hot Brazilian models flown in from Manila for this event. The super hot models gamely posed for photos with the crowd.

Havaianas can be found at the following authorized retail outlets: SM City Davao, Villa Margarita Hotel, Chimes Specialty Store, Sun Lab, Bliss, CHooCHoo Baby, Pearl Farm Beach Resort, Apo View Hotel, and All Flip Flops.

GenSan: Contempo Casuals. Koronadal: Mia Lee's Botique. Cotabato: Bajunaid Fashion Outlet. For more information, contact Marga M. Nograles or Tisha Ang at martish.marketing@gmail.com or at (082) 224-0891. For other provincial outlets and Manila stores, please visit www.havaianasphilippines.com.
