Dole, ICT Davao ink pact to push Davao as ICC hub
By Grace L. Plata

AN AGREEMENT was forged between the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) in Southern Mindanao and Information and Communication Technology Davao, Inc. (ICT Davao) in an effort to push Davao as the ICT hub of Mindanao.

The agreement, signed by Dole Southern Mindanao director Jalilo dela Torre and ICT Davao president Wit Holganza, committed their respective groups in a partnership to aggressively address issues and concerns facing the ICT industry, particularly those that affect ICT-enabled businesses and to jointly formulate corresponding policy recommendations.

The exploration of ways and means of promoting careers and employment opportunities as well as the development of the local talent pool to meet world standards are also another purpose of the partnership.

ICT Davao has also inked agreements in the past with the National Economic and Development Authority (Neda), Commission on Higher Education (Ched) and the Mindanao Economic Development Council to strengthen the collaboration of the private and public sector towards the goal of world class ICT offerings from Davao City.
