No buying out of settlers in Ayala-Anflocor project
By Carlo P. Mallo

THE Floirendos, owner of the sprawling 10-hectare future site of the latest project of Ayala Land Inc. and the Anflocor Group, have denied reports and speculations that the neighboring communities of informal settlers in the site in Bajada will be bought out.

Abreeza, the latest project of Ayala Land Inc. in partnership with the Anflocor Group, is set on the 10-hectare sprawling property of the Floirendos along J.P. Laurel Ave.

A 66,000 square meter shopping center is set to rise in the area, alongside with buildings for Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) establishments.

"No, there are no plans of buying out," Ricardo Floirendo, Senior Vice-President of Anflocor, said during the press conference Tuesday.

"Actually we will be improving their access road," Floirendo added.

A residential area is located at the back of the old Pitrade Building.

Top executives of Ayala Land Inc., headed by its chairman Fernando Zobel de Ayala II, were in Davao City Tuesday for the groundbreaking ceremonies at the construction site.

The project would be completed by the third quarter of 2011.
