Emar A blanks Southpoint; Ateneo tramples UM-PWC

THE Emar Learning Center-A and Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) Blue produced rousing wins when the Blue Knight Inter-High School Football League 2008 resumed at the Tionko Football Grounds over the weekend.

Emar-A crushed Southpoint School, 7-0, while Ateneo Blue blanked the combined team of University of Mindanao (UM)-Philippine Women's College (PWC), 6-0.

Emar-A player Jomar Acedo knocked in four goals, scoring in the 14th, 24th, 26th and 27th minutes, while Alfredo Labrador came through with a hattrick of his own in the 20th, 75th and 79th.

Patrick Francis Lim sparked Ateneo Blue with three goals (30th, 38th and 69th), while Aaron Ansaldo scored on a penalty kick on the 46th and Charleston Franklin Uy struck for a goal in the 51st.

Ateneo White, meanwhile, blanked Emar B, 9-0, as Derrico Gabriel "Gio" Ramos Diamante led the assault by hitting goals in the 32nd, 38th, 54th and 56th. Gerald Betonio also scored in the 21st and 77th mark.

Jorem Jabile and Jose Edgar Alfred Ilagan scored goals in the 13th and 51st, respectively, to complete the rout in the bootfest officiated by the Davao Football Association (DFA).

Matches will resume on Sunday as Ateneo Blue will collide with the Davao City National High School (DCNHS) at 8 a.m. while Emar-B will battle Southpoint on field 1 at 3 p.m. followed by the match between UM-PWC and Ateneo White on field 2.
