Seminars set for coop month

AT least 12 education, technology and skills enhancement seminars were lined-up this October for the month-long celebration of the Cooperative Month in Davao City.

These seminars were scheduled from October 7 to 29 at the Alternative Marketing Center (AlMaCen) in Catalunan Pequeño, at the selected rooms of the City Council, and in Marilog district.

Jaime Adalin, officer-in-charge of the City Cooperative Development Office (CCDO), said Tuesday that these seminars would include Standard Chart of Accounts (SCA) Seminar for the 2nd district cooperatives, the organic farming seminar, and planning workshop for agriculture.

Other seminars which were set at the AlMaCen are seminars on cooperative taxation; Cooperative Development Authority (DCA) Manual on Rules and Regulations; hog raising, bio-gas technology vermiculture; goat raising; turkey raising and meat processing; tilapia and hito production, fingerling dispersal and fish processing; second batch seminar on SCA for the 2nd district cooperatives; and a forum on cooperative banking.

Adalin said they are encouraging all cooperatives in Davao City to be part of the celebration by attending the seminars in order for them to be equipped and to promote a level of consciousness in the practice of cooperative principles. (JGRS0
