TWO rebels were killed while an Army soldier was wounded in an encounter between the government troops and the New People's Army (NPA) in Boston, Davao Oriental Tuesday afternoon.

Troops from the 2nd Scout Ranger Battalion were on combat operation at Barangay Simulao around 3 p.m. of September 30 when they encountered about 20 rebels from the Front Committee 20, the Eastmincom report said.

A one-hour firefight ensued. The wounded soldier was airlifted by the Tactical Operations Group 11 to a hospital for medical treatment.

There could have been more killed and wounded on the side of the rebels, the military claimed, but their comrades dragged them in their flight.
