THE Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings booked a finals seat after beating Emar Human Environmental College (EHEC) Red Horse, 107-92, in the 2008 Champions League semifinals at the Gaisano South (GS) Citimall SkyGym Tuesday night.
Joshua Adalid sparked the Kings with 21 points, while Bryan Montero, John Capilar and Jay-R de Guzman drilled 19, 18 and 16 points, respectively.
Ronnel Bantila canned in 20 points for Emar's losing cause in the meet sanctioned by Basketball Association of the Philippines-Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (BAP-SBP) regional director Regino "Boy" Cua.
The Kings pulled away with a 20-point lead in the first canto and never looked back to secure the much-needed victory.
They will play for the crown opposite the winner between the University of Mindanao (UM) Wildcats and Agro-Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines (AIFCP) Sailors at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The Wildcats and Sailors were still battling for the last finals slot as of this writing Wednesday. (MLSA)
