Maayong Buntag marks 14 years of service

MINDANAO's first morning magazine show on television, Maayong Buntag Mindanao (MBM), celebrated 14 years of quality programming, launching two major events geared towards getting closer with its audience.

On September 21, more than 600 participants attended the livelihood training seminar dubbed as Negosyong Swak at NCCC Mall Davao Activity Area.

With the help of expert from partner agencies, participants went through a series of modules about practical business ideas that don't need bigger capital such as cooking, massage and food processing.

Three lucky participants received Negosyo Package enough for them to start their own business.

For the young professionals, MBM introduces the first ever clubbing in television -- the Midnight Sun. Invites were sent through Friendster accounts for 100 lucky partygoers.

Along with surprises during the event, MBM also launches Rookie Flair, the first interschool flair tending competition (cocktail mixing competition) on local television.

Out of 100 contestants from different colleges and universities, five were chosen as finalists and will perform live during the Midnight Sun party at Urban Club, Bajada, Davao City on September 26. Cash prizes and trophies await lucky winners.

For 14 years, MBM remains a companion of Dabawenyos each morning as a source of information, entertainment, news and current affairs.

Through time, MBM format evolved from merely newscast to a package of infotainment through its segments attuned with the day-to-day needs of its viewers.

Aside from studio live programming, MBM reaches out to the community through service and education program.

At present, MBM adopted the Ceriaco Mariano Elementary School at Shrine Hills, Matina, Davao City as recipient of school supplies, educational materials, and feeding program with the help of the donations from its viewers.

As a way of giving back to its viewers for 14 years of patronage, MBM vows to continue to uphold its mission of providing Dabawenyos an avenue to learn and to uplift their way of life. (FEM)
