‘All Aboard’ fate known Wednesday
By Grace L. Plata

THE final decision on the All Aboard issue is expected to be made Wednesday during the Traffic Management and Control Board meeting called for by the City Government.

Wednesday's meeting is set as evaluation of All Aboard's compliance to the 10-day suspension order issued during TMCB's closed-door meeting with transport groups and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) officials last September 25, 2008.

"So far okay man. This time bahala na ang LTFRB mag-adopt sa among recommendation (We will just let the LTFRB adopt our recommendation)," TMCB Secretary Alfredo Pontillo said Monday.

"Apil sa istoryahan sa Wednesday ang developmental routes ug sa ilang pagtuman sa suspension. Gani apil man ang manager sa All Aboard sa pag-survey (To be discussed this Wednesday are the developmental routes and All Aboard's compliance with the suspension meted on the company; the company manager was included in the talks)," Pontillo added.

City Administrator Wendel Avisado, designated TMCB chair on behalf of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, said earlier that All Aboard's compliance with the order will determine what course the city will take regarding their violations.

Avisado said that if All Aboard shows good faith by complying with the suspension, a possibility of giving them an alternative to continue with their operation might be offered.

As per TMCB's recommendation, All-Aboard Transport Group will be made ply alternative routes in the city.

"TMCB will design a route that would justify they franchise as tourist vans. Isa pa lugi sad sila kung diri labi na daghan violations (They stand to lose a lot with the fines for violations). Their operations cannot go on smoothly. So we will have them ply areas na wala kayo sakyanan (where there are not so many public vehicles) among those are near high-end subdivisions in Diversion Road," Pontillo said.

Also among routes that All Aboard can ply are from Deca Homes in Cabantian to the downtown, Ulas-Panacan via Diversion Road and Bankerohan to Bunawan also through Diversion Road.

Pontillo recommends that only one terminal should be allowed for All Aboard despite its applications for multiple terminals in various parts of the city.
