Wednesday, October 08, 2008 Prisaad chess opens at SM
THE Prisaad Active Chess Championship unwraps at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the SM City Davao Events Centre.
Tournament director Ronnie Tabudlong, also director of the Blue Knight Chess Club, yesterday said the two-day chessfest features the elementary and high school divisions.
"It will be a seven-round Swiss System format team and individual competition," Tabudlong said.
He said the first three rounds will be played Wednesday, while the next four rounds will be on Thursday.
A school team, according to him, can field a maximum of 10 players in every division.
"A team is allowed to make changes to its roster of players 30 minutes before the first round," Tabudlong said.
The tournament is organized as part of the Private School Administrators Association of Davao (Prisaad) Games 2008 that formally opened at the Doņa Pilar Learning Center in Sasa on Monday. (MLSA)
