No PNP revamp, Verzosa assures

NO revamp in the police hierarchy will take place, at least none in the near future, the newly-installed Philippine National Police chief said.

Director General Jesus A. Verzosa said that there will be no revamp in the police hierarchy although changes will still take place.

The new PNP chief was in the city Wednesday to meet police regional directors in Mindanao, and to grace the graduation of the Special Action Forces at Camp Catitipan.

"We are doing away with the term revamp," Verzosa said. "These are normal placements due to the vacancies that arise out of promotions and retirement of police officers."

It has been a normal practice that newly-appointed officials will revamp the hierarchy of an organization to their pleasure as some positions involved are confidential positions.

Verzosa, nonetheless, denied that he is going to revamp the police hierarchy, as stated in previous newspaper reports. (CPM)
