Seagull FC wins

THE Seagull Football Club (FC) edged Medvil FC, 3-2 on Sunday to keep its unbeaten slate in the DFA League 2008 played at the Tionko football grounds.

Francisco Ilagan booted in Seagull's first goal in the second minute, but Medvil striker Roberto Acog found the net in the 18th minute to equalize the match and went on to seal another goal in the 66th for a 2-1 lead.

Seagull's Noel Flores, however, blasted in the 75th followed up by Daryll Bantayan's goal in the 86th to give their team its third straight win in the meet organized by the Davao Football Association (DFA).

Medvil dropped its record to two wins and one loss to place second in the team standings with six points.

The Hooligans FC, meanwhile, occupied the second spot with seven points after beating the Brokenshire Leopards, 3-1, in its recent outing.

Danny Boy Fernandez, Peter Garciano and Allan Rey Fernandez hit goals in the 31st, 58th and 81st, respectively, to lift Hooligans' bid while Andrew Chukwebuk scored the lone goal for the Leopards in the 18th.

The Leopards slumped into their third straight defeat to share the bottom with Club 35 that bowed to Columbia FC, 3-6, during their Saturday encounter.

Matches will resume this weekend. (MLSA)
