Rebels blame bloodshed to MOA oppositors

THE Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) accused proponents of the effort to stop the homeland deal as the ones to be blamed for all the bloodshed happening since the Moro rebels started attacking villages in Mindanao.

"You have blood in your hands that you must account for to all peace-loving Moros and Filipinos and the international community," MILF committee on information deputy chair Khaled Musa said in a report posted at their website www.luwaran.com.

Musa particularly criticized the paid advertisement of Senator Mar Roxas in the Philippine Daily Inquirer issue of October 19 branding the SC's decision as "A Celebration of Truth, Justice and Peace", and sub-titled "The fight goes on for a just, progressive, and peaceful Mindanao!"

Musa first questioned the source of the money that Roxas used to pay for the advertisement, which reportedly costs half a million pesos for a half page per issue. He asked if it is Roxas' personal money or from the public coffer.

He also accused Roxas of using the homeland deal to prop up his presidential ambition in 2010 at the expense of the peaceful resolution of the Moro problem and the armed conflict in Mindanao.

He disputed Roxas' claim that after the MOA-AD stoppage, there will be a "just, progressive and peaceful Mindanao," saying the SC decision had opened the war in the region that the MILF has tried to prevent by entering into ceasefire with the government. (BOT)
