2 gang men sued for multiple murders

CHARGES have been filed against two gang members accused of shooting to death three men inside a house in Sitio Basak in Mintal, Tugbok district, Davao City last June.

Charged with multiple murders for the deaths of Jonard Calacar, Wilven Capuyan, and John Carlo Calacar were Marlo Canque and Dan-dan Llenio after Prosecutor Serafica Justiniani Weis recommended the filing of charges based on the accounts of the witness, Reynaldo Legaspi Vasquez, 25, of the same place.

In an affidavit, he said that at 7:20 p.m. on June 4, he was at the construction area and talking with the workers for a possible contract for window grills.

He said that after a while, he saw four men alight from a motorcycle and hide at a dark portion of the place. After a few minutes, the men went to a house 40 meters away.

He claimed he saw two of the men, later identified as the suspects, fire at the house.

He said that the following day, he was informed that three men were killed inside the same house. He then informed the police about what he witnessed.

No bail was recommended for the respondents. (RMH)
