"During the conference, we will be interacting with other private sector representatives of other regions. It is a big conference which has been going on for the past six or seven years already," Barriga said.

Barriga said the conference will discuss important matters on how to align the direction of the regional PSRs in the country to the national development.

He said all PSRs in Southern Mindanao will be participating in the conference which include the representatives from the ICT industry; Mining, Forestry and Environment; Academe; Tourism; Crops and Grains; Livestock and Poultry; Fisheries; Energy; Coop Farmers' Fisherfolk; Labor; Urban Poor; IPs Cultural Community; and Women, Children, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities.

He added that PSRs are part of the Regional Development Council (RDC), which is under the National Economic Development Authority (Neda).

RDC is composed of representatives from the private sector, different local government units (LGUs) such as governors and mayors, and national government agencies (NGAs). (JGRS)
