12 MILF men killed in Saudi Ampatuan

THE military again claimed causing serious damage to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) group in coming out with names of 12 rebels killed in recent gun battles.

Major Randolph Cabangbang, spokesman of the Eastern Mindanao Command, identified the slain rebels as Omar Salik, Haron Latep, Omar Bapagar, Ibrahim Nacio, Amin Salih, Nasrudin Lugatay, one alias Kasan, alias Sadan, Allan Animbang, Datuali Salik, Manap Salik, and Musarapa Akob.

Cabangbang said more undetermined and unidentified number of wounded rebels was reported by their field commanders. Several bunkers were also reported to be destroyed in the encounter Sunday evening.

Elements of the Philippine Army’s 68th Infantry Battalion clashed with about 70 LMG led by Ustadz Wahid, Abu Nasria and Tulne Ana Escandaria at the vicinity of Barangay Tatapan, Datu Saudi Ampatuan.

Earlier that day, at 4:36 p.m., the soldiers also encountered MILF rebels, resulting to the death of one Corporal Kansino. (BOT)
