Quake rocks Mati

A 3.7 MAGNITUDE earthquake rocked the City of Mati Wednesday morning.

No injuries and damages have been reported as of this writing Wednesday.

Based on the accounts of some residents of Mati City, the earthquake was a strong jolt but lasted only for a few seconds.

In Davao City, the earthquake was felt with an intensity level 2.

Based on the information obtained from Desiderio Cabanlid of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs)-Southern Mindanao, a 3.7 magnitude earthquake jolted the coastal capital of Davao Oriental at 10:04 a.m. Wednesday.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 13 kilometers southeast of Mati City at a depth of 35 kilometers.

Mati City is located along a fault line and is one of the seismologically active spots in the country.
