"The tournament format is a five-round Swiss System. The playing time control is 30 minutes for each player to finish the game," Tabudlong said in a statement.
A champion's trophy, donated by Davao City Councilor Pilar Braga, and DVDs ChessBase magazine and instructional chess videos will be given to the top three winners.
Registration fee is only P 35. Chess sets and chess clock will be provided by BKCC.
The monthly competition, which is supported by Davao City Sports Council Inc. president Peter T. Laviña, is part of BKCC's continuing program for youth chess development. (MLSA)
