Prices of LPG down by more than P200
By Joy Romares-Sevilla

PRICES of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) have decreased by more than P200 per 11 kilogram since October this year, following the rollback in the prices of petroleum by huge oil companies.

A quick monitoring Wednesday in one of the LPG outlets in Davao City, Carlito Ferrer, manager of MMC LPG Center along Ma-a road, told Sun.Star that the highest amount for the rollback of LPG since October was P77.

"Since October, prices of LPG gradually decreased, but the highest amount was recorded at P77; there's a decrease in the prices every week, but minimal," Ferrer said.

From P690 in October, prices of Gasul went down to P475 at present; prices of Shellane decreased by P240 from P790 in October to P550 at present; P758 to P515 for Prycegas; and P630 to P504 for Petronas.

"Our dealer for Gasul recently announced there will be another rollback in the prices of their LPG from P475 to P426, but the new price will be posted for the next batch of our stocks," Ferrer said.

He claimed that their business, which has existed for five years already, was affected by the recent increase in the prices of gasoline, saying they have fewer number of clients compared before.

"People opt to use charcoal for cooking. During those times, our clients regularly inquire about the prices of LPG, but they do not order," Ferrer said.

He further said that business will likely recover in the next two months because "many clients are still not aware of the lowered prices."

Ferrer added that MMC LPG Center can dispose of an average of 20 LPG tanks every day. He said they are offering door-to-door deliveries for orders.
