Friday, December 19, 2008 Hyundai-Davao exceeds sales target this year By Carlo P. Mallo
AMID the troubled economy and a global financial crisis hanging over everyone's heads, Hyundai Cars in Davao City was able to surpass its target for the year.
"We made more than 100 percent of the target," David Bonifacio, of the family-owned Bonifacio Motors, told Sun.Star.
According to Bonifacio, their sales have already breached the 100 percent mark of their target for 2008.
Automakers around the world are experiencing slump in sales with global economies plunging into recession.
European car makers showed a 14.5 percent slump in sales in October. The European automakers association also announced that the figures marked the sixth consecutive monthly fall in new car registrations, which were also down 5.4 percent for the 10 months to October.
"One of the features of our cars is that 90 percent of our lines are run on diesel," Bonifacio said.
Although sales were a little bit slow in November, it started well again this month, Bonifacio said.
Hyundai cars and SUVs are exclusively distributed by Bonifacio Motors, which has a showroom in Lanang, Davao City.
