Arroyo hosts Christmas party for Davao journalists

FAR from the distant President that she usually is whenever she visits Davao City, who rarely grants interviews to the press, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo played host to a luncheon for members of tri-media Thursday.

Coming in from boxing champ Manny Pacquiao's birthday bash in General Santos City Wednesday, the President flew to Davao City Thursday noon to join journalists from print, television, and radio networks in Southern Mindanao for lunch at the Seagull Mountain Resort in the village of Buda.

The event was touted to be the President's Christmas party for the press in Southern Mindanao.

Also in attendance were political figures of four Davao provinces as well as executive regional officers of various national agencies.

Although the President maintained that there shall be no interviews, she gamely talked and mingled with the members of the press.

Arroyo left for Bukidnon after lunch.

Earlier, the President also had lunch with members of the press and their immediate family members in the Province of Sarangani. (CPM)
