THE City Government of Davao and the Calida-Bravo-Aniñon teams captured the divisions A and B titles, respectively, at the close of the Vice-Mayor Inday Sara Z. Duterte Pamaskong Handog Open Bowling Tournament at the Fairlanes Bowling Center Friday night.
The city team, composed of Marlowe Castillo, Boy Banluta, Danny Arellano, Bong Ko and Evelyn Gabriento, prevailed over the Daciba Bowlers team of president Ninfa Daclan, James Bardon, Jerson Tamayo, Peter Morales, Lando Bravo and Susan Laud in their step-the-ladder championship showdown.
Daciba settled for the runner-up honors while Barangay 7-A and DBA Bowlers occupied the next two spots.
In division B, the CBA team of husband-and-wife Nonoy and Che-Che Calida, Randelle Bravo, Miland Bravo and Boy Aniñon bested the D' Adventurers team of Joe Torres, Vic Pusod, Madz Lauro, Senen Maligang and Lino Pairat in just one game.
The Diagold Bowlers was third, while the Gian's Breakfast Club placed fourth in the meet organized by the Sunday Bowlers Club and sponsored by Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte and Vice Mayor Duterte.
Nonoy Calida clinched the masters championship trophy over Glenn Perez, Maligang and Romy Abellana aside from sweeping the division's highest individual double (295) and highest individual average (126.88).
Michael Omandac (94) of Fairlanes and Vic Pusod (94) of D' Adventurers, meanwhile, took the highest pinning titles while DBA's Jet Isturis (161) and MDC's Eric Engracia (157) copped the highest individual double crowns.
Isturis also brought home division A's highest individual title while Brgy. 7-A and CBA won the highest team single (634). The latter also got the highest team double award while Castillo had the highest individual average.
