Security threat makes Duterte sick

HIS headache is recurring and he fears that his ulcer will strike again.

All this because of the security threat lawless elements are posing in the city, especially following the twin bombings in Iligan City that killed three and hurt more than 50 others last December 18.

In his television program "Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa" Sunday, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said the security threat not just in the city but all over the nation is making him sick.

"Nagalabad na pud akong ulo. Mura'g gibarang man siguro ko. Mubalik na pud akong ulcer ani (My head aches, it's as if I've been hexed. My ulcer attacks just might recur)," Duterte said.

The mayor, however, said the police and the military are doing their best to protect Dabawenyos and prevent another bomb explosion in the city similar to what happened in Iligan City last week.

The mayor clarified though that the security threat is not enough to kill him as he warned his critics to stop spreading rumors again that he is dying of cancer.

"Barret's esophagus ang akong sakit, dili cancer," Duterte said smiling.

Barrett's esophagus refers to an abnormal change in the cells of the lower end of the esophagus thought to be caused by damage from chronic acid exposure, or reflux esophagitis, the inflammation of the esophagus.

The mayor said he is not afraid of dying as he is already a made man.

"I am made. I can go anytime," he said.

As for the security threat, Duterte asked the people to pray to God and Allah for Davao City to be spared from any terrorist attack. (BOT)
