Papparazzi Games
By Jojie Alcantara

THE Fanatic Photographer's Society of Davao (FPS), a fun photography forum founded by hobbyist and businessman Dexter Tan in 2006, has grown to prosper online and has helped a lot of amateurs and professionals in dealing with issues and equipment related to their craft.

Regularly, we get together on fun photo safari trips and events, even organizing photography workshops to help one another.

As one of the administrators in the online forum, I thought of organizing a fun day for the group with the help of fellow member and hobbyist Paul Borromeo, whose family (Valderama clan) owns Campo Agua Resort.

The resort in Sirawan, Toril has a nice environment and a huge kiddie pool that I found perfect as a venue for a fun adventure race and game relays that will bring out the playful children in all of us.

Around 14 photographers participated gamely while resort manager Jocelyn Nefiel assisted me in devising wacky contests that involved running, fishing, strategy games, swimming, and even tilapia eating. The First Papparazzi Games was successful, and we aim to launch the second this summer.

Kudos to the sponsors for the consolation prizes and Paul who gave away cash for the winners, we really got to be kids for a day. To view more of the fun photos, log in at www.fanaticphotographers.com.
