Based on reports from the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm) regional office, combined forces of the military and police raided the safehouse of the suspects in Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Shariff Kabunsuan Province around 7 p.m. Monday.

The raid yielded materials commonly used in making improvised explosive devices (IED).

Gulam and other civilians were released, as there were no evidences linking them to the spate of explosions that hit Central Mindanao.

According to Bai Talusan, the wife of Ali, her husband is not a terrorist but an ordinary citizen. She is appealing to authorities to release him since several of her neighbors are willing to attest to his clean record.

Ali is tagged by the authorities as one of the Jemaah Islamiyah's local recruits who are undergoing training inside the camp of the Lawless Moro Islamic Liberation Front group. (Edgardo Fuerzas)
