Uy has a pending warrant of arrest penned by Judge Romeo Albaracin of the Regional Trial Court Branch 9 for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Dangerous Act under criminal case 64 432-2008.

Reports said the Sta. Ana police received information that Uy was seen carrying a firearm and a grenade around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Residents in the area then sought police assistance. SPO1 Bangcas, PO3 Daquigan, PO3 Dionisio, PO2 Arellano and PO2 Asupan immediately responded and approached the suspect as he was playing computer games in Block 47 beside Carlo store. Instead of surrendering, Uy pulled out a .45 caliber gun from his waist.

SPO1 Bangcas and PO3 Daquigan were forced to defend themselves and shot Uy in the head.

Police and members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) found a .45 caliber Colt MK4 Pistol with serial number 131885, eight bullets and one magazine with seven bullets and two sachets of metamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) from Uy's possession.

Also found near the crime scene was an empty shell of a .9MM caliber and a slug of still unknown caliber of firearms.

Uy's remains were brought to the Angel Funeral Homes along F. Torres street, Davao City while the firearms and shabu are now in the custody of the Soco. (AD)
