By Jimmy P. Abayon

THE provincial office of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) announced the holding of the second congress of the Philippine Science Journalists (PsciJourn) on March 18-20 at the Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino in Lapu Lapu City, Cebu.

Dost Secretary Dr. Estrella Alabastro will be the keynote speaker and will be introduced by Dost-7 Regional Director Rene Burt Llanto while Press Secretry Hernani Braganza will deliver the message.

The three-day congress aims to support government efforts to develop a science-oriented citizenry.

The gathering will provide the venue for discussion and exchange of information on the role of science and technology in economic development.

It also seeks to enhance interactive partnerships and cooperation among media practitioners and communications to promote science and technology and encourage membership in the organization.

Participants will shoulder the travel expenses to and from the venue and the registration fee of P200.
