Guv backs Arroyo's agro-tourism hi-way
By Joe A. Medinilla

NEGROS Occidental Gov. George Arnaiz strongly supports the move of President Arroyo to officially launch the President Diosdado Macapagal Agro-Tourism Nautical Highway.

The highway aims to develop the agricultural productivity in the countryside at the same time boost the country's tourism industry.

Governor Arnaiz confirmed that President Arroyo would definitely be in the province on April 2 to lead the entourage of top government officials who will pass by on the way from Metro Manila to the Visayas and a swing to Mindanao.

The highway is a connection of a series of highways and roll-on, roll-off seaports where buses and other transportation facilities are shipped through barges bringing people and goods to other agro-tourism sites in the countryside at a faster and cheaper rate.

Arnaiz said the scheme is good for the provinces and the country because it will boost the growth of commerce and industry.
