TMO to resume drive v. colorum vehicles
THE Traffic Management Office (TMO) here will resume this week its drive against colorum passenger multi-cabs locally known as Easy Ride plying the Dumaguete City route.
Letzah Jo Sienes-Duran, TMO chief, said they would resume the drive against colorum vehicles after the expiration of the one-week amnesty granted to multi-cab operators to process a mayor's permit.
"Actually taas na kayo ang lugway nga gihatag sa city hall batok sa mga easyride nga walay mayor's permit," Duran said.
Traffic officers apprehended the previous week nine passenger Easy Rides plying the Dumaguete-San Jose route for operating without a permit.
The violators were fined P500 for each colorum unit.
Duran said TMO would resume its crackdown this week particularly against multicabs plying the Dumaguete-Amlan route.
The new traffic head disclosed the drive against passenger jeepneys would start on July 1 this year.
She said traffic officers are regularly monitoring the operation of passenger multi-cabs and jeepneys plying the southern route.
Duran added TMO would apprehend drivers of passenger multi-cabs and jeepneys that do not have any sticker. VLC
