NOPH eyes hospital cost hike
By Adrian Sedillo

GOVERNOR George Arnaiz supports the plan to increase the service costs of the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital (NOHP).

Governor Arnaiz said NOPH administrators already submitted the plan to the Committee on Health and the Committee on Ways and Means of the Provincial Board.

The public hearing for the proposal has been scheduled next month.

The governor explained the proposal operates on the principle that those who have more can pay for those who have less.

Under the scheme, those who can afford will pay more to enable NOPH to continue giving free medical and hospital services to the poor.

Furthermore, he said the increase will not be as high as that of private hospitals.
