Grenade blast rocks Brgy. Buñao By Hermie B. Tresquio
A GRENADE blast rocked Buñao village past midnight Wednesday.
No one was hurt in the explosion beside the house of Florido Temblor Sr., 57, married, and proprietor of Standard Insurance Inc. in Dumaguete City.
The blast destroyed a plastic table and chair and eight glass panes from the window of the victim's bedroom.
Temblor said he and his wife were awakened by the explosion of the grenade hurled by an unidentified person or persons about four meters outside the house.
Investigators recovered shrapnel and a grenade safety lever from the scene.
Temblor said he had no enemy, aside from his driver whom he dismissed from service a week ago.
Neighbors said they heard a motorcycle leaving the area after the explosion.
City police chief Constantino Barot Jr. said aside from the possible link of the driver, they are looking into another angle. Supt. Barot refused to name the driver.
