4 local officials suspended
By Victor L. Camion

MAYOR Edsel Enardecido of Ayungon suspended for 30 days four barangay council members of Tiguib effective August 9 this year.

In his one-page order dated August 3, 2004, Mayor Enardecido suspended councilmen Regie Emperado, Wilmer Sablada, Robinson Velasco and Joseph Yee, all of Tiguib, Ayungon.

Enardecido also ordered the suspensions of their honoraria and other allowances.

The suspension was upheld by the municipal council.

Ayungon Resolution No. 139, series of 2004 dated July 26, 2004, recommended the immediate suspension of the four barangay councilmen under Paragraph C, Section 61 of Republic Act 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991.

The respondents are facing administrative charges for falsification of public documents.

The mayor's ordered, however, did not specify the circumstances.
