Reporter's home strafed
By Maricar Aranas

POLICE are continuing its investigation into the strafing of Radio Station dyWC AM female reporter Maritoni Salvoro's home in Barangay Sacsac, Bacong town early Monday evening

As of press time, investigators have no tip on the masked man toting an armalite rifle, aboard a white XLR motorcycle that strafed Salvoro's house 8:45 in the evening of August 23.

After peppering the house with bullets and before driving away, the gunman left a death threat note with a live bullet.

Witnesses said the gunman stopped in front of the gate 25 meters from the house and started firing when they saw the reporter's husband Rudyard Austero.

Police investigators recovered three M16 bullets embedded in a coconut tree and two more shells on the ground.

Salvoro said she first received a threat two days before the strafing incident when she aired a story about illegal sand and gravel extraction.

The reporter believes her story could have triggered the shooting.
