22 finish adult literacy program
By Maricar Aranas

VALENCIA, Negros Oriental -- Some 22 formerly "no-read, no-write" villagers of Dobdob, the municipality's farthest barangay, ended their adult literacy and numeracy program training.

The finishers, aging from 18 to 25, were among 40 participants from Sitios Badjanng, Nasulay, Manta, and Kabulunusan in Dobdob who went through 300 hours of learning and can now read and write, said Alma Villanueva, literacy program trainer.

Mayor Rodolfo Gonzales, Jr. described the achievement of the batch as a success in his program to educate his people.

During the graduation rites recently, Mayor Gonzales turned-over to Dobdob a school building constructed through the Third Elementary Education Program.
