P58T fake bills seized
BAIS CITY -- Police have detained and charged two men caught carrying P58,000 in fake bills.
The forged money were in P500 and P1,000 bills.
The police did not give details on the circumstance behind the arrest of the suspects Wilfredo Abestano, 46, married, of Sitio Sto. Nino, Barangay Cabanlutan, Bais City and Jonathan Torres, 49, married, of 17 Nichol St., Paranaque City, Metro Manila but residing in Cabanlutan.
The suspects were arrested seven o'clock Wednesday morning through a team headed by Senior Inspector Carlos Lacuesta, Jr.
The bills were then brought to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas to verify their authenticity.
Both were charged for violating the Revised Penal Code on forged money. (Neil C. Rio)
