Multicab holdupper nabbed By Neil C. Rio
AN ARMED person arrested by police authorities Sunday turned out to be the suspect in the robbery of a passenger jeep in Dumaguete and a house in another town early this month.
Police Officer 3 Jito Buloron of Sibulan Police received a text message Sunday evening about a man brazenly displaying a gun tucked on his waist along the bypass road near Hibbard Avenue in Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City.
The armed person, the message said was the suspect in the robbery of a house in Judyville Subdivision, Sibulan early this month.
Buloron in coordination with Dumaguete City police arrested Dino Minosa, 21 of Barangay Pamciao, Manjuyod town.
Police found out that Minosa was one of the two armed men who held up the passengers of a multicab Friday evening along Banilad road, Dumaguete City.
Recovered from the possession of Minosa is a red bonnet, an ATM card owned by Nemwell Banatanto.
One of the passengers identified Minosa as one of the suspects who held them. The two reportedly boarded the vehicle at the parking area in Colon St.
The victim, Sharon Alvaro, single of Habitat 3, Bajumpandan said the multicab was in front of the Jesus Miracle Crusade Church when the suspects, armed with a caliber .45 and a caliber .38 handguns each announced a hold-up.
Alvaro was divested of her bag containing her Nokia 2100 cellphone, P1,500 cash, an ATM Card, a Visa Card, and a China Bank Card.
The two suspects, police said fired at the multicab before disappearing in the darkness.
Minosa allegedly held up his employers in Judiville Subdivision, in Barangay Bolocboloc last Feb. 4.
The victims, Nemwell Banatanto, 35, married, and his wife Janeth, identified the suspects as Ryan Tinguha, of Tiki, Mabinay and Minosa, their former helpers.
The couple said they had just arrived from a night out. The couple's daughter immediately went to the toilet while Janeth was still in the garage.
Their two former workers attacked Banatanto, who entered the house first, with a samurai.
Janeth rushed to her husband's aid, but was stabbed.
The robbers carted away the family's jewelry estimated at P50,000, P400,000 cash, a licensed caliber .45 pistol, and clothes of their helper Evelyn Estel.
Minosa was charged Monday with illegal possession of firearms, robbery, and frustrated homicide.
