Prov'l Board blocks engineer's appointment
By Edmund Sestoso

THE Provincial Board of Negros Oriental has exerted efforts to block the reappointment of the controversial Engineer Darryl Ada back to the Provincial Engineering Office.

In their regular session, Board Member Marcelo Adanza, a close relative of Ada pointed out that there is a question of the efficiency and performance of those recommended to be hired.

He was supported by his colleagues when he made a move not to rehire Ada.

However, to put the due process into motion, the Board Members decided that the Provincial Board Committee on Human Resources should study further whether Ada deserves to be rehired.

Ada's contract has ended last December 30, 2002.

The said committee is chaired by Board Member Erwin Michael Macias.

Except for Ada, the Board Members approved the request of Provincial Engineer Susano Ruperto to hire 16 engineering assistants and three engineers.

Rehiring backs some of the engineers are very much needed according to Engineer Ruperto because aside from the near end of their contract on June 30 of this year, their services could not be dispensed with due to the bulk of projects that their office is undertaking.

Macias said that he will meet the committee members to discuss the issue and come up with a resolution the soonest time possible.
