Village drive for Bright Child project intensified By Rachel M. Nessia
DAY Care workers in Negros Oriental have intensified the Bright Child campaign in all barangays in the province.
To carry out the campaign, the workers focus their lectures on the rights of children when they interact with day care children.
Bright Child unifies all Early Child Hood Care and Development activities in the country and encourages the community to raise healthy, mentally alert, physically able, happy, and intelligent children.
Rose Camero, senior provincial social worker, said the program is included in the 25-year framework for children or Child 21.
It is a multi-agency activity promoted by the Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Education, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
The project started in 2003 and is one of the bases in coming up with a child-friendly society, Camero said.
